November 30th 40 Weeks 2 days 6:18 am "labor day"
Thursday night was a restless one for Momma. I just could not find a comfortable spot to sleep... bed or couch. Woke again around 3 am to several contractions in a row. Since Daddy was supposed to be to work at 6 am I thought I better start timing them and found them to be 5-6 min apart while resting but as soon as I would get up and move around they jumped to 2-3 min apart. I crawled back in to bed to try and sleep while waiting for Daddys alarm to go off. When Larry woke I showed him the time line and he quickly decided he was not going in to work that day and woke up his "on call" person. About 5:30 I decided to call the midwife and when she called back about 20 min later I was feeling kinda silly because I felt like I should know when to leave for the hospital but since contractions started out so close together I was a little concerned and she thought it would be best for us to meet her at the hospital in an hour (that would be about 7 am at this point). SO I called mom and had her come get Jackson so that he didnt have to get up and be grumpy and we packed up and headed to meet our girl!!! Labor slowed down quite a bit upon arrival to the birth center but that was to be expected with a change in location but after a little more than an hour on the monitor I was able to get up and start moving around again and after a little bit of walking contractions pick up the pace again and the fun began!!! Long story short Ella was born a VERY short time after I let the midwife break my water and we finally got to see our TINY BEAUTIFUL baby girl!!!
Mommy and Daddy are SO in love!!!! Big brother....not so much:) He is starting to warm up to her and give her kisses on the head once in a while but still will not hold her.
So much is left out of this story but let me just say that using a midwife was such an amazing experience from start to finish. I love to tell the story but only to those who want ALL the details!!!
